Cuneiform Inscriptions in the Collection of the Bible Lands Museum Jerusalem: The Emar Tablets
— Handcopy by Joan Goodnick Westenholz
l. 14 note G]IR₃.PAD.GUB: Westenholz regards the spelling gišGIR.PAD.GUB as a mistake here, in BLM 21:13 and in AuOrS 1 22:10. This generally means "bone" (eṣemtu), but the context of all thre Emar instances indicates a "footstool," usually gišGiR.GUB (kilzappu). In the face of thr examples, it may be more likely that the "mistake" had become an accepted writing. Fleming 2002: 373
